Easter 2027 is Sunday, March 28. Daytona Beach’s long-running Easter tradition is the Easter Beach Run, held on the sand at the Bandshell on the Saturday before Easter. Egg hunts and Easter services for 2027 had not been announced as of Oct. 8; we will add them as churches, the city and other organizers post dates.

Easter Beach Run, Saturday, March 27

The race was first held on Easter Sunday to give visiting college students something to do and is now the oldest consecutive footrace in Florida, according to its registration page. Runners and walkers go out and back along the beach.

The 4-mile race is open to all ages and teams. Finishers get medals, and age-group awards go to the top three men and women in each group. Registration is open on the race page.

Egg hunts

We have not found a public Easter egg hunt in Daytona Beach with 2027 dates published by its organizer. City recreation centers, churches and neighborhood groups that host a hunt can send us the date, time, place and age groups. Hunts will be listed here in a table by date.

Easter brunch

Easter falls on a Sunday, when these Daytona Beach restaurants serve brunch or a breakfast buffet, according to their own websites. Holiday menus and reservations will be noted here when the restaurants post them.

  • Brunch Remix, Hard Rock Hotel Daytona Beach, 918 N. Atlantic Ave.: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, with live music on Sundays (Hard Rock).
  • Doc Bales’ Grill, Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort, 100 N. Atlantic Ave.: a breakfast buffet 7 to 11 a.m. weekends, overlooking the ocean (Hilton).
  • Mama Foo Foo, 125 Basin St.: open from 10:30 a.m. Sundays, lunch and brunch until 3:30 p.m. (Mama Foo Foo).

What is open and closed

  • Good Friday, March 26: normal trash pickup, according to the city’s holiday trash schedule.
  • Public schools: Volusia County Schools’ spring break ends the week before; classes are in session the week of Easter. See our spring break page.
