President Donald Trump speaks at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30, in Daytona Beach, the RNC says. Doors open at 3:30 p.m.; the venue has not been named. How to get tickets.
President Donald Trump is scheduled to speak at a midterm rally in Daytona Beach on Friday, Oct. 30. That is four days before Election Day.
The event is listed on the Republican National Committee’s event page for the “Midterm Rally in Daytona, Florida”. The page lists the location as “To Be Announced.” As of Saturday, no venue had been named.
The schedule
The event page gives these times for Friday, Oct. 30:
- 3:30 p.m.: doors open
- 5:30 p.m.: program begins
- 7 p.m.: Trump’s remarks begin
How tickets work
Tickets are free but must be requested on the RNC event page. The page sets these rules:
- a maximum of four tickets per signup
- a name, email address, cellphone number, ZIP code and state are required
- a confirmation text is sent to the phone number, and the page says you are not registered until you confirm by phone
The signup form says that giving a phone number is consent to calls and recurring text messages from the Trump 47 Committee and the committees in it, including the RNC. The form says donations may be solicited. The page is paid for by Trump 47 Committee Inc.
What the city and county have said
As of Saturday afternoon, the city of Daytona Beach’s news page had posted nothing about the rally. Neither the city nor the Volusia County government had announced road closures, parking plans or traffic changes for the day. We will update this page when the venue and any closures are announced.
What it means for you
- If you plan to go: request tickets on the RNC page and confirm by text. Plan to arrive early: doors open three and a half hours before Trump is due to speak.
- If you plan to stay away: expect heavier traffic around the venue Friday afternoon and evening once it is named. Check this page and our road construction and closures page before you drive.
- If you have not voted yet: early voting in Volusia County runs through Saturday, Oct. 31, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily, the Volusia County Supervisor of Elections says. The two Daytona Beach sites are the Cherry Cultural and Education Center at 925 George W. Engram Blvd. and the Daytona Beach Regional Library at 105 Jackie Robinson Parkway. Election Day is Tuesday, Nov. 3; our voting guide has the rest.
