Voting by mail
Request a mail ballot by Thursday, Oct. 22. Your completed ballot must reach the Supervisor of Elections by 7 p.m. on Election Day, under Florida law; a postmark is not enough. You can drop it at a secure intake station at any early voting site during early voting hours, and track it from mailing to acceptance through the voter lookup. If your signature is questioned, the county posts the cure affidavit.
Election Day: your polling place and ID
On Election Day you must vote at the polling place for your precinct. Find it, and your sample ballot, through the voter information lookup.
Bring a current photo ID with your signature. Florida accepts, among others, a Florida driver’s license, a Florida ID card, a U.S. passport or passport card, a military ID, a veteran health ID card and a government-issued ID, under section 101.043, Florida Statutes. If the photo ID has no signature, bring a second ID that does. Without ID, you can still vote a provisional ballot.
