Who runs it

The Turkey Run is a nonprofit event presented by the Daytona Beach Street Rods and the Daytona Beach Racing & Recreational Facilities District, which also hold a spring show in March. The organizers say all proceeds go to local and national charities, more than $20 million to date.

The organizers stress that the show is only at the speedway. Turkey Trots, Turkeyfests and cruises at hotels and bars that weekend, and events at ONE DAYTONA across the street, are not part of the Turkey Run and cannot sell its tickets.

What’s there

  • Show cars. More than 5,000 collector cars, from 1920s cars to American muscle. There are no classes and no awards. Show car details.
  • Swap meet. More than 2,000 vendors of parts, accessories and memorabilia, open all weekend.
  • Car corral. More than 1,500 classic cars, hot rods and muscle cars for sale or trade in the speedway infield. Car corral details.
  • Artisan Alley. More than 30 vendors of handmade crafts, jewelry, pottery and car-themed gifts.

Tickets

Spectator admission for the fall show is $21 a day for adults, Wednesday to Sunday. Children 11 and under are free. The FAQ says tickets go on sale online about two months before the show and are also sold at the speedway on show days.

Showing a car

  • Fee: $80 for the fall show, cash only at the entry gate. It covers all five days, up to four people in the car and a dash plaque.
  • Gates: Gate 70, 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the Turn 4 tunnel, 7 to 10 a.m., Wednesday to Sunday.
  • Eligibility: vehicles 30 years and older (1996 and earlier), plus Mustangs, Corvettes, Camaros, Chargers, Challengers, Vipers and other listed sports and exotic models. Gate staff have the final word. Questions: 386-295-5000.
  • No “for sale” signs in the show field. Cars for sale go to the car corral, which needs its own registration.

Parking, trailers and getting around

  • Trailers cannot enter the speedway. Trailer parking for the fall show is just outside Gate 70 for $60, paid at the gate, with proceeds going to local Boy Scout troops.
  • Spectator parking: the speedway’s directions and parking page says lot availability and pricing vary by event.
  • Mobility: free ADA shuttles run from the spectator gates to the scooter rental locations. The organizers recommend reserving a scooter in advance at 423-569-1933. Golf carts, Segways, bicycles and gas scooters are not allowed; see the mobility device rules.
